The financial industry is evolving rapidly.At the forefront of that evolution is digital - an efficient conduit to build relationships, simplify tasks and ensure firm accessibility (on the client's terms) throughout the experience. Today, without question, social media plays an integral part in the digital flow.

As a member of the Global Marketing team, the Social Media Director will drive Franklin Templeton's social media strategy at a global scale. This individual will lead the team of social media professionals and own the firm's social presence across all social channels, both organic and paid. We are looking for a seasoned social media leader within Financial Services with expert-level social media marketing experience and unparalleled communication and relationship-building skills - comfortable working with C-suite executives to drive all things social.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Social Media Director?
  • Define and drive the Social Strategy, working with Marketing and Sales leaders around the World to ensure it is aligned to regional and corporate business goals

  • Lead a global team of social media marketers with an emphasis on nurturing employee development

  • Establishing, in concert with legal and compliance, policies and procedures that enable impactful full-scale social media marketing across all regions

  • Partnering with corporate communications to create and execute best-in-class social media strategies for the CEO and other executive level leaders

  • Present analytics reports and communicate actionable insights to executives that inform future strategies and drive a change in approach

  • Drive adoption of firm's social media employee advocacy program

  • Provide expert social media consulting for enterprise business groups including specialist investment managers and affiliates

  • Direct tech stack adoption and manage vendor relationships that enable social media initiatives globally (Hearsay, Sprout Social, Canva, Bitly)

  • Define approach and manage launch of new/emerging platforms

  • Represent the firm at outside conferences and deliver learnings company-wide

What ideal qualifications would help someone be successful?
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • 10+ years driving social strategy for a global brand in a highly-matrixed, regulated, corporate organization with the proven ability to lead change

  • 4+ years managing a team of social media marketing professionals

  • Financial services social media experience, with a strong understanding of financial services and related verticals

  • Expert-level knowledge of social media platforms and evolving social media landscape

  • Expert-level knowledge of full-funnel social media marketing campaigns, both paid and organic

  • Skilled at influencing executive-level leaders

  • Superb communication and relationship-building skills

  • Unwavering aptitude at crisis management and conflict resolution

  • Excellent business judgement and ethics

  • Ability to show an extensive portfolio of client work

Franklin Templeton offers employees a competitive and valuable range of total rewards-monetary and non-monetary-designed to support the whole person and to recognize their time, talents, and results. Along with base compensation, other compensation is offered such as a discretionary bonus, 401k plan, health insurance, and other perks. There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Franklin Templeton, we apply a total reward philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation. We expect the salary for this position to range between$145,000-$190,000.
