  • For a limited time MaineHealth is offering a $10,000 Sign on bonus for all eligible experienced Registered Nurses with 1-3 years of experience and $20,000 for experienced Registered Nurses with greater than 3 years of experience!

  1. Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time RN position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.
  2. Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.
  • This position is for a Clinical Nurse II for the Cardiac Catheterization Lab in Portland. The Cardiac Catheterization Lab Nurse will utilize a combination of training, assessment and technical skills in the accomplishment of their duties.


  • The Cardiac Catheterization Lab Nurse is required to:

  1. Assist with the performance of diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures
  2. Use hemodynamic monitoring equipment to evaluate the patient's hemodynamic status and vital signs
  3. Provide conscious sedation throughout Catheterization Lab procedures as well as recovery from anesthesia post procedure when necessary
  4. Take responsibility for helping to run Catheterization Lab related equipment
  5. Work with considerable independence
  6. Possess accurate record keeping and attention to detail skills
  • This position is full time, working CORE hours (0630-1900) consisting of 3 (12) hour Days, in which weekends or holidays are not required. However, On-call is REQUIRED wherein within a 10 week rotation, nights and weekends will be scheduled. This consists of an on-call differential as well.

  • On Call Staff are required to be present to receive patients within 30 min. For those residing outside of the 30 minute radius we offer 2 call rooms across from the hospital.

  • Position Summary

In accordance with national standards of nursing practice and within the guidelines and policies and procedures of both Maine Medical Center and the Maine State Board of Nursing, the Clinical Nurse is responsible for assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, documentation, and evaluation of the effects of nursing care. Care delivery and coordination of patient and family care begins with the initial contact with the health care system and may continue across the continuum. Services may be provided on an inpatient, outpatient, ambulatory, and/or community basis.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
    • License/Certifications: Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Maine. Certification in relevant specialty preferred.
    • Experience: At least 1 year prior RN work experience. Meets all requirements of Clinical Nurse I. Completion of Level I usually achieved by 12 months of employment. Interventional Radiology or PACU experience preferred. Cardiac experience strongly preferred.
    • Basic knowledge of the research base, theory, practices, principles, and processes of professional nursing.
    • Interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
    • Analytical ability sufficient to identify changes in patients' conditions and to initiate appropriate action.
    • Ability to identify potential crisis situations involving patients and/or families and to initiate appropriate action.
    • Demonstrates a caring nursing practice and promotes a healing environment for patients and families.
    • Demonstrates the required knowledge and technical skills to care for most patient populations on the unit.
