Summary of Objective:

The Facility Manager will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and management of the physical infrastructure and systems within our facilities. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership abilities, and a commitment to ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of our operations.

  • The Facilities Manager will provide leadership to a staff of skilled maintenance technicians;
  • Responsible for implementing and driving a culture of safety and delivering results for preventive maintenance, corrective repair, facilities maintenance, and staff technical training, all performed to the highest GMP standards;
  • Accountable to lead a GMP maintenance culture geared toward a proactive and preventative maintenance program, with a focus on service to internal customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The essential duties and responsibilities include the following but other duties may be assigned.

Strategic Leadership:

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the Facilities & Maintenance team, ensuring alignment with company/site goals and industry best practices.
  • Enhance maintenance processes through innovative thinking to drive efficiency and compliance improvements.

Process Optimization:

  • Oversee the optimization of maintenance processes to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality while reducing costs and wrench time.
  • Implement advanced technologies and methodologies to enhance process capabilities and drive innovation including but not limited to vibration analysis, lubricant analysis, etc.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and good manufacturing practices (GMP) in all maintenance activities.
  • Support regulatory and client inspections and audits related to manufacturing facilities and processes, addressing any findings or recommendations as needed.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Quality Assurance, MTS, Global Engineering, and site leadership, to ensure seamless integration of maintenance activities.
  • Serve as a key liaison between maintenance and other departments to support project execution and resolve technical issues.

Team Development:

  • Mentor, coach, and develop engineering staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning, professional growth, and collaboration.
  • Build a high-performing team capable of delivering innovative solutions and driving operational excellence in plant and process engineering.

Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for the stated position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • BS in related discipline or equivalent combination of work experience and schooling/certifications in lieu of degree
  • 10 Plus years' experience or related technical training in cGMP Biopharma maintenance environment
  • Preferred 3-5 years management/leadership experience.
  • Experience related to process equipment (Washer, Tunnel, Filler, RABS, Capper, Lyophilizers, conveyance systems) and support utilities.
  • Experience in CAD and must be able to read and understand blueprints, P&IDs and other technical documentation
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Prior hands-on experience with CMMS (Infor EAM, Maximo, Blue Mountain, etc.)
  • Experience in FDA / EU regulated environments, Familiarity with OSHA regulations
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership and team building skills.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and working in a Work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work in a highly complex matrix environment.
