Research Scientist: Discovery Biology - High Throughput Screening and Automation
Primary Duties : As part of the High-throughput screening and automation team you will be responsible for developing, automating, and implementing analytical methods to support our programs and platform development efforts. You will directly contribute to our goal of advancing our mRNA 2.0 vaccine platform by testing innovative new construct designs and analytical methods!
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Utilize Hamilton robotic liquid handling systems to support mid-to-large-scale screening studies.
  • Experience with immunoassay techniques including IF, flow cytometry, and ELISA to support in vitro platform development studies.
  • Develop and optimize new assays for detection of new targets and markers of interest.
  • Provide assay and technical support for other teams within the CoE to drive the platform forward.
  • Function in dynamic and highly collaborative cross functional teams.
  • Summarize experimental results and findings in high-quality scientific presentations and reports.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Masters or PhD in a related field (e.g. Cell Biology, molecular biology, etc).
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a research laboratory or biopharma / biotech company setting.
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture and transfection.

Key Skills, Abilities, and Competencies:
  • Familiarity and hands on experience with analytical techniques such as Immunofluorescence, Western blotting, ELISA and flow cytometry-based assays.
  • Meticulous working style with attention to detail and diligent record keeping.
  • Desire to learn about and design new screening workflows to aid in driving the platform technology forward.
  • Desire to work as a part of a highly integral team to accomplish project goals together.
  • Excitement for mRNA technology and strong desire to 'Play to Win'!
