The Investment Clerk, a non-exempt position, is responsible for assisting the Investment Department in the completion of administrative tasks, as well as assisting the Investment Analyst and Bond Portfolio Manager(s) in their duties managing the wholesale funding and bond portfolios. This position will regularly manage data input, keeping files up to date, correspondence between the department and third parties, and creating reports.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES

    Determine daily borrowing needs and borrow funds from the appropriate wholesale funding source. Additionally, execute supplementary funding as directed by the Investment Analyst.
  • Handle margin calls for the Banks derivative portfolio, both manage and monitor pledged collateral with all collateralized wholesale funding providers.
  • Update files and input data that supports the Bank's wholesale funding, swaps, collateral, trade tickets, and reports.
  • Create bond purchase and sell packages in Bloomberg.
  • Track the department's needed metrics such as collateral, purchase/sale data, and excess cash and keep team up to date on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Additionally, validate that internal data consistently reconciles to third party sources.
  • Regularly update files and reconcile to Bloomberg.
  • Prepare bi-monthly ALCO reports and monthly board reports.
  • Conduct and complete additional assignments/projects as designated by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • A history of academic and/or professional success with a persistent desire for professional development and a proven track record of achieving results.
  • Demonstrated ability to simplify sophisticated problems to identify the appropriate solution.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 products and applications, including the ability to effectively prepare or review documents, procedures, and reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new systems and applications, as well as the ability to understand, adapt and adjust responsibilities/workflows as a result of system upgrades.
  • Occasional travel to other First American Bank locations, Bank functions, and training facilities may be required.
  • Typical schedule is Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Additional hours may be required depending upon business need.
