Clinical Research Coordinator for Beyond Birth: Postpartum Transition of Care After Hypertensive Pregnancy

GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:

Our team studies and designs care innovations in maternal health and postpartum care transitions, particularly for underserved, BIPOC populations. Projects center around testing educational programs and tools for patients and providers to better support birthing persons in vulnerable settings including maternal health deserts. Our team includes collaborative work across departments at Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH), Harvard Medical School, the Harvard School of Public Health, and other hospitals in the Boston area. We also closely collaborate with teams across the US and globally.

We are looking for a full-time (40 hours/week), in-person Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) to help us with this work. The CRC will work primarily with Dr. Ann Celi and will be encouraged to join her other projects on maternal and racial justice and maternal care innovation.

The CRC will be expected to work within a multidisciplinary and multi-site research team. An CRC with a high level of professionalism and strong interpersonal skills is needed to provide first-line support for patient recruitment and queries from stakeholders and participants. The CRC will need excellent attention to detail and critical thinking skills.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Extract and analyze patient health information in Epic across different clinical sites to identify eligible patients for study recruitment

-Respectfully coordinate study workflow with medical assistants, physicians, residents, and administrative staff

-Recruit and follow-up with postpartum patients at BWH postpartum floors, perinatal clinics, and community health centers.

-Support and nurture close relationships with academic, hospital, and community organizations

-Help prepare materials for and respond to the Institutional Review Board (IRB)

-Assist with project workflows through administrative tasks including: scheduling conference calls and meetings, preparing meeting agendas and materials, keeping team on schedule

-Schedule conference calls and meetings. Photocopying electronic mailing, mailing, project documentation, and other administrative duties as required that may also be to support student interns

-Use Excel to collect, construct, clean, and link data sets and perform descriptive analyses

-Use REDCap for data collection and organization, and format RPDR downloads

-Use statistical software to run statistical analyses

-Help prepare PowerPoint presentations, posters, figures, tables, and data visualizations (creativity encouraged!

-Format research manuscripts for publication

-Communicate with funding donors and sponsors, and contribute to progress reports

-Oversee research tasks of student volunteers and interns

-Order project supplies as needed, process invoices and expense reports in a timely manner

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

-Bachelor's degree, with planned or current enrollment in health policy, health professional, or public health graduate school.

-An interest in health care, health policy, and the care of vulnerable populations

-Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred

-Experience with clinical research strongly preferred

SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

-Ability to think critically, work independently and proactively, and meet deadlines

-Excellent collaborative interpersonal skills, high level of respectful professionalism in comportment with hospital leadership, patients, donors, foundations, team members

-Proficiency with personal computers, spreadsheet, graphic, database programs, and videoconferencing

-Experience with Microsoft Suite
