    Covanta Haverhill located in Haverhill, MA, seeks a dedicated Industrial Maintenance Mechanic and Welder who will perform various mechanical, maintenance and repair work, primarily for the equipment in the back ash and bottom ash areas.

    Responsibilities of the Industrial Maintenance Mechanic and Welder include but are not limited to, working on guarding, vibrating screens, skirting, belting, scrapers, idlers, as well as baghouse and APC ducts. Will make alterations to back ash equipment, as directed, to improve cleanliness and production.

    Will be responsible for inspections, greasing, alignments, and other preventative maintenance tasks. May use various shop equipment in the performance of their assigned tasks. May perform rigging for disassembly and or assembly of plant equipment.

    The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic and Welder will be required to perform welding for repairs of piping, tubes, shafts, structural repair, and fabrication, as well perform code welder/pressure part repairs on the boilers.

    Maintains work area in a clean, orderly and safe manner.

    Complies with all health and safety policies, procedures, practices and regulations.

    This position will report to the Operations Supervisor and be involved in other plant projects and forced boiler outages.

    Position Requirements:

    To qualify, at least (5) years of experience in welding and must be ASME Section IX certified to weld on pressure parts.

    Experience with repair and maintenance of mechanical equipment is preferred.

    A high school diploma and a valid driver's license are a must.

    You must be able to obtain a Massachusetts 1C, 2C Hoisting license within six months.
