The job

As a Director of Investment Services, you will lead and support a team of investment professionals whose mission is to deliver first-class client service to our clients. Our clients include educational endowments, private and public foundations, cultural and religious organizations, health care and insurance organizations, pension plans, and high-net-worth families. We work closely with our clients to create, implement, and monitor investment policies and asset allocation strategies intended to meet their unique investment goals. You and your team will work closely with all departments, including compliance, research, consultants, and business support, to achieve client and financial goals. In this role, you will be expected to understand and advocate for industry best practices and innovate processes and procedures as appropriate.


You'll be responsible for:

  • Leading the development and daily activities of an investment team that consists of Investment Associates, Performance Analysts, and a Client Service Coordinator. Your team is responsible for all client-related activities and quality control of materials for approximately 80-100 different client relationships.
  • Owning the Investment Associate responsibilities for 3-6 strategic relationships.
  • Collaborating with the Head of Investment Services to ensure smooth scheduling coordination and maximization of schedule adherence, providing input on unit conditions, identifying needs, and receiving direction on real-time staffing changes.
  • Working other Directors of Investment Services to develop, communicate, and implement business plans that meet short- and long-term business needs.
  • Owning daily risk mitigation and weekly/monthly/quarterly reporting for scheduled adherence to internal and client expectations (responsible for the team meeting all targets and deadlines).
  • Providing positive leadership that sets standards and expectations for the team and promotes employee engagement, development, teamwork, trust, ownership, excellence, and creativity.

We're looking for:

  • 5+ years of investment industry experience focused on client service, performance measurement, and operations. Experience in consulting or investment management is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or business-related field
  • CFA, CIPM, or CAIA designation (or progress toward these credentials) is highly desired
  • Experience in direct or indirect supervising, coaching, mentoring, and developing individuals
  • In-depth knowledge of the structure, liquidity, and appropriateness of various investment vehicles
  • Experience with investment performance measurement and accounting
