RWE Offshore Wind US Offshore Procurement Team is looking for a Sr. Procurement Manager, Supply Chain Development to support the development of fixed bottom and floating offshore wind project opportunities across the USA. This role would report to the Sr. Procurement Director, Americas.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Drive the development of a strategic supply chain plan including a proposed localization scenario that best positions RWE's Offshore Wind development in the Americas for success. This includes activities such as developing an understanding of global supply chain locations and capacities, capacity constrained commodities, IRA guidance and impact to business case, global demand outlook and forecasted US project volumes. This role will coordinate between the Technical, Engineering, Legal, Workforce, Partnering and Development teams in addition to a broader perspective on the regional supply chain specific needs, opportunities and challenges for the US East and West regions.
  • Build business relationships with the offshore wind supply chain (both global and local) while identifying opportunities to execute RWE's strategic supply chain plan through supply chain specific business partnerships.
  • Develop and implement a plan to optimize RWE position to capture the benefits set forth in the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) to maximize Project returns.
  • Lead the identification of supply chain specific needs across relevant projects, in collaboration with the Engineering, Development, and Logistics teams. Define and implement a broader strategy to facilitate different foundation technologies.
  • Work with project teams to produce database for utilization of possible site infrastructure locations in priority project areas.
  • Advise internal stakeholders on all supply chain development related topics and project requirements, including coordination across workstreams (e.g. technical, commercial) and "early and often" communication with senior management regarding projects' risks and progress against overall timelines.
  • Lead and manage external consultancies engaged in support of projects' development activities.
  • Work in conjunction with the US Offshore Development Team and the Government Relations team to manage external stakeholder relations through port development process including permitting, construction, and operations.
  • HSE: Promote RWE Renewables "We Care" HSE standards and procedures; ensure that both local and global best practices and learnings are implemented across projects

Qualifications & Knowledge:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or a related field
  • At least 7 years of relevant experience leading procurement and/or strategic supply chain activities.
  • Project management experience is required.
  • Results-oriented and entrepreneurial mindset, ability to analyze and summarize complex permitting topics and aggregate decision-relevant information to convey messages clearly and concisely
  • Strategic mindset to be able to develop long-term plans and communicate desired outcomes to benefit individual projects and larger strategic objectives including identifying opportunities for public funding and other mechanisms to advance port development.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with people of different backgrounds and cultures; must be a team player with a proven ability to communicate and collaborate across functions and at all levels of an organization
  • Significant experience with offshore wind-relevant commodities, US specific supply chain policies and an understanding of an offshore wind construction delivery model
  • Demonstrated experience managing external consultants in support of construction and port development activities.
