Safety and Quality Coordinator (2)- QMPI will support QI projects that require a rapid response to system gaps and vulnerabilities; align with USNWR metrics and defined opportunities, align with organizational and PPSQ goals and initiatives. They will also support critical functions to improve processes of measure production, validation, tracking, and integration with safety and quality management at the enterprise/department/division levels.

The Safety & Quality Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Under the direction of quality and safety staff, contributing to key design and functioning within designated projects/initiatives:
  1. Gathering project information: schedules, data requests, issue logs, project plans, communications, assignment tasks, and project meetings.
  2. Working with the project team to understand and assist with tracking all work, tasks, and project assignments.
  3. Monitoring and modifying project schedule and key deliverables.
  4. Maintaining document control, database management, and project tracking and contributing to team communications.
  • Contributing to project-related deliverables, including process workflow diagrams, PowerPoint presentations, status reports, and project plans/timelines.
  • Coordinating the day-to-day activities of the project, organizing and coordinating meetings, taking minutes, and maintaining records systems.
  • Completing basic analysis and data coordination for project support.
  1. Completing quantitative and qualitative analyses to support the objectives of assigned projects and ensure completion of project objectives within agreed-upon timeframes.
  2. Providing data coordination and data entry services for quality improvement projects supported by the department.
  3. Abstracting, organizing and understanding clinical and non-clinical data and information relevant to the assigned project.
  4. Performing data management and serving as an internal resource on data coordination procedures.
  • Collaborating with senior staff and clinical and non-clinical staff on projects and providing support on tools, methods, and criteria for monitoring care delivery processes and outcomes and evaluating the effectiveness of changes.
  • Composing, editing, and delivering written and verbal communications to key stakeholders (internal and external).

To qualify, you must have:

  • 2 years related experience and a High School Diploma/GED. Bachelor's preferred.
  • A willingness and ability to learn and adopt new systems and technologies.
  • Technical skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Ability to study a system, break it down into parts, and identify best opportunities for improvement.
  • Under guidance, ability to facilitate a productive project team that includes clinical and non-clinical staff to develop and implement improvements within clinical departments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Interest and ability in working with data sets to display results according to goals.
  • Ability to clearly explain and follow standardized processes accurately and consistently.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to effectively meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work with minimal oversight, as well as cohesively within a team.
