Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

    Responsible for analyzing high level system architecture to develop system requirements specifications. Will contribute to the development of systems engineering documentation.
  • Responsible for implementing best practice system engineering, design, integration, operational concepts to minimize security risks and ensure the integrity and availability of systems, information, and data.
  • Design, engineer, and deploy operational innovations that support USAID's mission and approach to bringing forth a more dynamic, collaborative, and innovative model for delivering international aid.
  • Identify and recommend COTS products to support design, configuration, and operations.
  • Deliver adequate design concepts to protect from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or misuse of information processed, stored, or transmitted on USAID server platforms.
  • Participate in Engineering Review Board (ERB), Architectural Review Board (ARB), and Software and Hardware Request (SHR) processes and meetings to share information, review documentation, and ensure any impact to operations is coordinated throughout.
  • Develop derived requirements for Information Assurance Services and implement comprehensive SOA solutions.
  • Provide specifications and detailed schematics for system architecture, plan implementation of enhancements and upgrades to the server infrastructure.
  • Define software requirements, both functional and non-functional, as high-level epics, features, and user stories to support SAFe or other industry standard Agile frameworks.
  • Architect complex software systems using a hybrid cloud architecture and microservices.
  • Design software using industry standard design patterns and best practices to improve maintainability, flexibility, performance, security, and availability.
  • Utilize scripting tools to craft self-service capabilities within the Platform as a Service (PaaS), fostering a seamless developer experience for development teams.
  • Collaborate closely with developers and service line owners to diagnose and troubleshoot problems, ensuring smooth operations.

Qualifications

Basic Qualification:

  • U.S. Citizen; eligible for U.S. Security Clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree with 2 to 11 years, or master's degree with 0 to 9 years, or PhD,

    OR 4 years of additional experience in lieu of BS

  • Proficiency in administering AWS and Azure Gov Cloud environments in compliance with DoD standards.
  • Experience ensuring server specific information, including business function, is accurately maintained in enterprise toolset, e.g., ServiceNow.
  • Experience managing and administering AD forest, including domains, organizational units (OUs), groups, shared files and folders, user accounts, printer queues, and other AD service es in use at USAID.
  • Experience establishing, managing, and administering and service accounts, while also maintaining accurate system documentation and effectively resolving technical issues.
  • Experience creating and implementing automated configuration and deployment processes to enhance the performance, accessibility, and ease of management of platforms and related services.
  • Experience with Windows OS, Mac OS, iOS, Linux to include Linux AD integration.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Active Secret Security Clearance.
  • Familiarity and experience with USAID' IT systems engineering and operational environment.
  • Professional Certifications such as MCSA, AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Developer, Security+, CISSP, etc...
  • Experience with Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Azure Infrastructure (IaaS), Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager

Target Salary Range
$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
