How you'll make a difference?

The successful Global Sourcing Business Manager candidate will analyze, evaluate, and manage Global Sourcing programs and projects across the company's Business Units. You'll be responsible for evaluating the need for Global Sourcing initiatives and establishing programs that drive efficiency in quality, cost, delivery, and regulatory programs. The Global Sourcing Business Manager will work cross-functionally within the organization to ensure objectivity, implementation of sound business practices, and fiduciary responsibility to the organization.

What will your duties and responsibilities be?

The following are the essential functions of this position. This position may be responsible for performing additional duties and tasks as needed and assigned.

  • Develop and implement Global processes (SOP's) to be utilized across Business Units

  • Research "Best in Class" Suppliers for potential new sourcing opportunities that span across the company's Business Units

  • Research new technologies to be evaluated for innovation or cost reduction

  • Lead Supply Chain Regulatory efforts with Suppliers (MDR, ESG, Conflict Minerals, etc.)

  • Develop contract templates to be utilized for Global agreements

  • Develop and implement a Supplier Handbook (how to do business with our company)

  • Identify savings opportunities within sourcing categories through active Supplier optimization, evaluation, contract management and operations efficiencies

  • Develop business plans to continue ongoing Supply Chain improvements

  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers, evaluate bids and proposals and collaborate with Supply Chain resources (ie: supplier development engineers, quality engineers, etc.)

  • Develop "state of the union" metrics and information for assigned categories that will inform the business of supplier and material trends in the industry. This should include developing technologies beneficial to the organization, M&A activity that could potentially impact the business or may be of interest to management, raw material, labor and transportation changes in the market, and other information pertinent to the quality, cost and delivery of assigned categories

  • Drive Global purchase decisions based on cost, lead time and market trends

  • Collaborate with other departments to identify and pursue new supplier opportunities

What skills and qualifications will you need?

The requirements listed below are representative of the education, knowledge, skill and/or ability required for this position.

Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, finance, logistics or related field

Experience, Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities:

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in Purchasing / Supply Chain management roles that include Global Sourcing responsibilities

  • Experience in Sourcing roles in the Medical Device industry

  • Working knowledge of Manufacturing processes and materials

  • Proficient in Risk Management, sourcing strategies, contract negotiation and cost savings

  • Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking abilities

  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and other productivity tools

  • Willingness to travel to develop and promote Supplier/Vendor relationships

  • Working knowledge of process improvement philosophies (ie: Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)

What skills and qualifications are preferred?

The education, knowledge, skills and/or abilities listed below are preferred qualifications in addition to the minimum qualifications stated above.

Education/Certifications:

  • Master's degree in business or specialization in advanced procurement management

Experience, Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities:

  • Medical device manufacturing experience
