What you'll be doing:

The Merchandising organization at Staples is tasked with curating the full product assortment, managing costs with suppliers and ensuring that customers have the best possible purchasing experience. The Reporting and Analytics team within Merchandising plays a key role in enabling this work by driving insightful data consumption, process excellence and operational execution. The team recently completed a major overhaul of core reporting and analytical tools and is seeking a Manager of Business Intelligence to scale and stabilize the new solution set. This role will be responsible for building out an operational support model for our entire BI ecosystem, including our BI tools and vendor feeds.

A good candidate for the role will have proven experience with issue resolution management, root cause analysis and technical diagnostics. They will have a strong interest in flawless execution and the opportunity to work with exciting technologies like Snowflake, Sigma Computing and Alteryx.

What you bring to the table:

  • Prior knowledge that helps to design and implement an operational support program for the Merchandising BI ecosystem
  • Aptitude to ensure that user-identified issues are addressed in a timely manner and that communication during the fix is thoughtful and thorough
  • Ability to be a thought leader for BI at Staples
  • Be current with BI trends through attending other BI professionals
  • Communication skills and desire to learn by meeting with outside BI vendors, attending conferences, reading trade publications, and networking regularly to stay aware of the latest technologies
  • Comfortable working both independently with minimal supervision and closely in a team setting
  • Proven skills in developing and writing business requirements for new projects

Qualifications :

What's needed- Basic Qualifications:

  • BS / BA, preferably in Business or equivalent work experience
  • 4+ years in a highly analytical, results-driven environment

What's needed- Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing user training programs for applications
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Access knowledge
  • Alteryx experience is a plusr
  • Experience working with large, complex data sets
  • Experience managing complex projects with technical partners and the business
