Staff/Senior Propulsion Engineer
Position Overview

At Aurora Flight Sciences, we design, build, and fly advanced aircraft and enabling technologies from concept to reality. We are searching for a talented and self-motivated Staff/Senior Propulsion Engineer to help us create the future of flight. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

Responsibilities

- Aurora Flight Sciences is seeking an experienced Propulsion Engineer to lead development of propulsion systems for autonomous aircraft.

Minimum Requirements

- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering (or related STEM discipline).
- 7+ years of relevant industry experience (or equivalent combination of technical education and experience).
- Demonstrated expertise in aerospace propulsion systems.
- Excellent written and communication skills.
- Must be a US Person.
- Candidates should expect to travel up to 20% of their time.

Preferred Requirements

- Demonstrable leadership experience on a cross-functional team.
- Experience with engine-airframe integration, fuel systems, and power generation systems.
- Experience leading aerospace propulsion system development, from conceptual design through production.
- Experience with business capture and early concept development for commercial, government, and military propulsion systems.
- Systems engineering experience with powerplant design including system safety assessments, failure hazard analysis, and certification and test plans.
- System architectures design and performance analysis experience.
- System component requirements definition, design, and development experience.
- Experience with electric and hybrid-electric propulsion systems.
- Experience with propulsion system test planning, setup, and execution.
- Experience using CAD systems (CATIA preferred).

Physical Requirements

- Must be able to lift up to 22lbs.

Salary Range (Annualized USD)
  • Minimum Range: $83,000.00 to $148,000.00
  • Maximum Range: $101,000.00 to $179,000.00
