About the team

FIS' Cloud-Hosted Service has a portfolio of products which cover a range of enterprise level services such as grid-computing, clustered services, load balanced web portals and disaster recovery technologies. Our team of Architects' design and implement infrastructure to support the full suite of products and services in production environments. This includes products hosted in FIS' Cloud and the public cloud [AWS & Azure]. The position requires a self-motivated individual with proven development expertise, in provisioning and automating Cloud platforms implementations, and excellent communication skills.

What you will be doing

As a Cloud Architect you will design and Implement DevOps solutions for FIS' Insurance clients Hosted Services Products. DevOps Architect will be building complex enterprise ecosystems and solving high-level strategic problems. The strategic directions of cloud hosting business architecture are defined by Architecture and Engineering team. It provides an understanding of the technical facilities that are needed for supporting the FIS' Managed Cloud-Hosted Services.

As the Architect you will look after developing a program [Infrastructure as Code], validating, and plan to integrate cloud infrastructure and FIS' software systems. Architects must have experience in code deployment, which results in continuous integration & deployment of infrastructure & applications to help be more productive and effective. You will operate as an expert for DevOps practices across the organization, providing solution design and implementation automation guidance, coaching, mentoring, other junior architects.

The gap between technology solutions and business problems are bridged by architecture & engineering team. The entire process is quite complex, and it includes several sub-processes. It includes:

  • Design to reduce the risk of architecture change

  • Plan to automate every step involved in implementation phase

  • Provision of specifications for defining, managing and delivering the hosted solution

  • Collaboration with the build team for ensuring suitable translation of architectural solution into robust and effective implementation

  • Work with internal teams to create the migration process of legacy systems to the FIS' and public cloud

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience. Post-graduate education desired.

  • Must have led technology direction for multiple projects and led or presented architecture concepts outside realm of immediate workgroup

  • Five or more years working in public cloud environments (AWS, Azure)

  • DevOps tooling including: HashiStack (Terraform), Bitbucket, Ansible, NodeJS, JavaScripts.

  • An understanding of the architectural principles of building on different cloud platforms

  • Experience with automated deployment, continuous integration, and release engineering tools

  • An understanding of security features and tools that cloud vendors provides and how they relate to traditional services

  • Knowledge of high availability, load balancing, disaster recovery, and auto-scaling concepts

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (ARM Templates/ Terraform/ CloudFormation)

  • Experience with Scripting (Powershell, Python, NodeJS, JavaScript etc)

  • Experience with configuration management (Chef, Ansible, or Puppet)

Bonus experience

  • Architect-level cloud certifications (preferred)
