Job/Internship Description

The Summer @ Roche Intern Program has been developed to provide students with a fun yet rewarding summer through hands-on experience and numerous opportunities to network with other interns as well as employees in the organization. Additionally, we help our students meet their career development and educational goals while potentially building a future with the Roche organization. Leveraging the education you received already, we hope to give you an opportunity to grow and develop with us!

This is a 12-week student internship position within the COBM's cPM group. The selected intern will apply their education and skills to support daily cPM project planning activities or a cPM functional initiative under the guidance of a Clinical Project Manager or the Head of Clinical Project Management. Projects may involve collaboration with other COBM functional leadership and/or functional departments outside the COBM. This internship is an excellent opportunity to exercise clinical project management practices in a live RMS environment.

Program Requirements:

Candidate must be currently enrolled in an accredited college/university with 2 years or less remaining in the degree program. We are seeking qualified Master's degree candidates for this internship position

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 out of a 4.0 scale for candidates with prior internships.

  • Minimum GPA of 3.2 out of a 4.0 scale for candidates seeking first internship.

  • Effective communication, organizational skills and time management skills.

  • Ability to work with a team and independently in a fast paced environment.

  • Strong computer skills, with experience using Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

  • Letter of recommendation from a professor is preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Manages Clinical Study related information to support COBM project team members, respective BU PMs and PMO Leadership, LCTs and LCC for decision making with direct oversight by a more senior cPM or Head of cPM.

  • Responsible for the tactical coordination of the COBM's clinical study budget planning and reporting processes with direct oversight by a more senior cPM or Head of cPM.

  • Independently contributes to internal and external COBM initiatives led by a more senior cPM or Head of cPM.

  • Independently manages meetings to include setting agendas, organizing meeting time and editing meeting minutes.

Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of project management practices such as scheduling, budgeting, stakeholder analysis, resource management, risk management and/or communication.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, database, email software.

  • Some experience/exposure to Microsoft Project Management software is a plus

What the Intern Will Learn:

Application of solid project management to RMS clinical study portfolio, leadership skills and experience in delivering projects on time, within budget and with high customer satisfaction through supporting and managing project information that's drives advanced project-related decision making by project teams, the COBM Leadership Team, Life Cycle Teams (LCTs) and Life Cycle Committee (LCC).

Specific skills developed will include:

  • Coordination of Clinical Study timelines/budgets

  • Execution and monitoring of cross-functional plans

  • Tracking progress of daily team activities

  • Overseeing risk management including critical path, risk assessment, scenario creation and analysis

  • Compiling and communicating project reports
